The International Luge Federation (FIL) will again provide a live stream of its major events on its website this season.

Josef Fendt, the President of the FIL, announced the move at a press conference in Austrian city Innsbruck.

It follows the success of live streaming last season, the German claimed, with all FIL World Cup legs set to be covered.

The 2017 FIL World Championships at the Olympiabobbahn Igls sliding track in Innsbruck will also be streamed between January 27 and 29.

"We are giving people something they have long been asking for," said Fendt.

"The feedback about last season’s live stream was overwhelmingly positive, and we look forward to continuing to provide this service.

"This represents another step forward in terms of the media coverage of our sport."

The streams will run alongside usual television coverage and all broadcasts will now be available in Germany, providing their broadcasters are not running their own live stream.

As with last season, Tim Singer will provide English commentary for the majority of races.

He will be joined by lugers from around the world who will provide expert analysis.

The FIL World Cup season will open in Winterberg in Germany on November 26.
