The BBC’s Olympic advert scooped the Best Promotion Programme prize, while Dougal Wilson’s "Yes I can" video, used as the promotional film for Channel 4’s coverage of the Paralympics, was given the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Grand Prize.

Channel 4’s advert, entitled "We’re the Superhumans", features a series of British Paralympians running, swimming, jumping and dancing alongside a band of disabled musicians.

Sammy Davis Jr’s "Yes I Can" track provides the backing music.

The advert received widespread praise, particularly from International Paralympic Committee (IPC) President Sir Philip Craven, who hailed it as the "best ever".

New Zealand rugby legend Dan Carter had already been confirmed as the winner of the autobiography prize and the two-time World Cup winner received his award during the ceremony.

Carter, considered one of the greatest fly-halves of all time, was recently cleared of wrongdoing by the French Rugby Federation after an investigation into a possible failed drugs test.

The New Zealander, fellow All Black Joe Rokocoko and Argentinian Juan Imhoff, were all reported by French sports newspaper L'Equipe as having submitted tests showing traces of banned corticosteroids following the final of the French Top 14 rugby competition on June 24.

Their club Racing 92 has confirmed that all three players have been cleared and will not face any sanction.

The French National Olympic and Sports Committee prize went the way of David Burnett’s L’Homme Sans Gravité, a picture book capturing iconic images from various sporting events, including the Olympic Games.
