Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) general secretary Abdulrahman Askar has revealed the organisation is putting the final touches on a digital sports library project, which is expected to launch in the near future.

Askar claimed the project is in compliance to the directives of Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa - representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports chairman, and BOC President - to shift to a more advanced digital technology for all the BOC’s future operations.

Supervised by the BOC’s information technology director Nawaf Abdulrahman in cooperation with the sports training and development section, the project is said to be the first of its kind and aims to link science with sports.

Other objectives of the project include qualifying sports officials in administrative and technical areas by providing a variety of scientific resources that add to the expertise of relevant personnel.
