France’s Anouck Jaubert made International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC) Speed World Cup history by becoming the first athlete to win four consecutive events in a single season.

Jaubert had closed on the landmark achievement by winning her third straight World Cup title in Arco, making the sixth event of the season in Wujiang a potential record breaker.

Russia’s Iuliia Kaplina looked the likeliest athlete to stand in Jaubert’s way, as she posted the fastest time in the semi-finals, clocking 7.99 seconds.

She proved unable to repeat the feat when it mattered as the Russian finished the final in a time of 9.01, leaving Jaubert to claim the victory in 8.11.

The bronze medal showdown saw Aleksandra Rudzinska defeat her Polish compatriot Klaudia Buczek, clocking 8.31 to her team-mate's 8.33.

There was home success for the crowd in Wujiang to celebrate, with China's Qixin Zhong triumphing in the men’s competition.

The reigning World Cup champion earned victory in a time of 6.44 in the final, with Russia’s Vladislav Deulin settling for second in 8.33.

After failing to make the final, Marcin Dzienski saw his attempts to become the first man to win four consecutive World Cup events draw to an end.

The Polish star bounced back to secure a podium place, winning the bronze medal race in a time of 6.82.

Dzienski's third place ensured he would claim the overall World Cup title, with just one event remaining.

Russia’s Bassa Mawem ended fourth after a fall.
