Canada maintained their perfect start to the World Curling Federation (WCF) World Mixed Curling Championships after cruising to victory over Latvia at the Kazan Sports Palace today.

The Canadian team had begun their campaign in impressive style, with triumphs over the United States and French teams, and they continued their form by taking a four point lead after the first end against Latvia.

It proved to be the ideal platform to seal a third straight win, with Michael Lizmore skipping them to a 7-2 success which also ended Latvia’s unbeaten start.

"We felt pretty good that game," said Lizmore.

"We were not really happy with how we played last night so we’re glad to get back on track just feeling a lot better that game than we did yesterday."

South Korea finished the day in second place in the Group D standings after beating France - to move above Latvia.

With Japan having a day off competing, Scotland were able to draw level with their Group A rivals in the table by beating defending champions Norway 8-1.

It would be the second loss of the day for the Norwegian team, following their 8-0 defeat to New Zealand.
