Olympic champion Anna Korakaki continued her magical season by winning the women's 25 metre pistol title at the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup Final in Bologna.

The 20-year-old Greek added to her Rio 2016 gold medal by scoring 39 hits in an elimination final at the Italian venue.

This was enough to beat South Korea's London 2012 Olympic champion Kim Jangmi, who had to settle for silver with 32 hits.

Ukraine's London 2012 bronze medallist Olena Kostevych bagged bronze with a tally of 30 hits.

This was a first elimination final in the discipline at the World Cup final - with the shooter with the lowest score automatically knocked out from the fourth series onwards.

The format replaced a semi-final/final system which was previously used for medal matches.

"This is a fantastic way to close the season," said Korakaki, who also won the Olympic 10m air pistol bronze in Rio.

"The rules have changed, but luckily that didn’t affect me.

"This was a test for the new rules that will be in use from January 2017.

"We all agreed in trying them out here in Bologna, and I like this format more than the previous one.

"It has been a crazy season for me.

"Winning two medals in Rio de Janeiro really changed my life.

"There’s a lot of media pressure now, and people on the street recognise me, I am not used to it.

"In addition to that, today I got this huge glass globe.

"Winning the World Cup feels great, after Rio this will be my best memory of 2016."

In the second final of the day, another Rio 2016 champion tasted further glory as Germany's Christian Reitz won the men's 25m rapid fire pistol event.

The 29-year-old world number one came out on top with a score of 34 hits.

China's Rio 2016 bronze medallist Li Yuenhong won silver this time with a score of 31, while three-time World Cup champion Alexei Klimov of Russia recorded 26 hits for bronze.

"Life has been crazy after the Games, I had a lot of interviews, conferences and speeches," Raiz said after today’s medal ceremony.

"A few weeks ago, I started training again for this World Cup Final.

"It has been a nice competition, and it’s great to win this Cup."
