The WTF Poomsae World Championships continued in Lima today ©WTF

Five countries won a pair of gold medals each as 11 titles were decided on day two of the World Taekwondo Federation (WTF) World Poomsae Championships in Lima.

The Philippines, Iran, China, South Korea and the United States all doubled up, with Germany winning the other gold on offer in Peru's capital.

Individual competition saw South Korea's Jin-han Lee triumph in the men's under-50s division, with Pok Sun Yang of the US claiming the silver.

Bronze medals were collected by June Ninobla of The Philippines and Turkey's Hayri Temel Alper.

The men's under-40s title went to Filipino Ernesto Guzman who beat Iran's Ali Salmani into the silver medal.

South Korea took bronze thanks to Do-gyeong Kim, with Serbia's Branislav Kuruca also claiming the third step on the podium.

Under-60 honours in the women's competition went to Germany's Imke Turner, with Mexico's Patricia Martinez taking silver ahead of South Korea's Yeong-ae Seo and Austria's Leni Niedermayr, both bronze medallists.

Iran came out on top in the women's under-40s competition thanks to Atousa Farahmand Parsa, with Russia's Natalia Tipliakova finishing second for silver.

Finland's Johanna Nukari and Turkey’s Serim Olgun Kahveci both won bronze.

Erica Linthorst won gold for the US in the women's over 65s event after overcoming the challenge of Russia’s Valentina Kontorina.

Bronzes were awarded to Olga Maria Bustos from Colombia and Lis Borring from Denmark.

An individual freestyle title was also decided in the men's under-17 division, as American Tyler Dao took gold.

Turkey’s Enes Doguhan Bilgin gained silver with Vietnam’s Anh Tuan Bui and Canada’s Mark Bush earning bronze medals.

In team competition, The Phillippines won gold in the men's over-30s class ahead of silver medallists Turkey and bronze medallists Iran and the United States.

The female over-30s team title went to Iran, with the US in silver medal position and Finland and Russia clinching bronze.

China ousted Vietnam to win the male cadet team title, with hosts Peru claiming one of the bronze medals alongside the US.

Freestyle over-17s team gold medals went to China ahead of Vietnam, as Denmark and The Philippines both finished third.

A pairs title was also awarded today, with South Korea winning in the junior division ahead of silver medallists Mexico.

Iran and the US added to their hauls by winning bronze.

Currently not on the Olympic programme, poomsae is a non-sparring event where individuals or teams perform a "sequence of movements arranged in a meaningful order in response to attacks from multiple imaginary assailants".
