Nominations are being sought by the World Curling Federation (WCF) for its Athlete Commission, they announced today.

There are four positions available to elite curlers.

The deadline is September 26.

The current members of the Commission, which was established in March 2013, are “Skip” Ann Swisshelm from the United States, “Vice Skip” Cathrine Lindahl from Sweden and Kelly Scott from Canada.

Norway's Bent Ånund Ramsfjell, the Salt Lake City 2002 gold medallist, the vice-president of Europe, is the WCF Board liaison.

The new elected members will take the Athlete Commission up to seven.

The primary goal of the WCF Athlete Commission is to communicate the interests of the athletes in cooperative support of the WCF achieving its mission.

Also eligible for election to the Commission will be a heelchair athlete who has played at the World Wheelchair Curling Championship or Winter Paralympic Games.

Others able to stand are a male or female athlete who has played at the World Doubles Curling Championship.
