The International Skating Union (ISU) have released a set of "official hashtags" for the upcoming season.

They claim it is "an effort to streamline social media conversations around ISU events and championships".

The hashtags have been simplified so they are memorable and easy to use, the ISU claim.

Events covered include the ISU Junior and Senior Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final in Marseille between December 8 and 11.

Other major events on the 2016-2017 calendar include the ISU European Figure Skating Championships in Ostrava in the Czech Republic between January 25 and 29 and the the ISU Four Continents Figure Skating Championships in Gangneung in South Korea, a test event for the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, on February 15 until 19.

The highlight, however, of the figure skating calendar is the World Championships in Helsinki between March 29 and April 2.
