The second international cross-country skiing coaches' seminar took place in Trondheim.

The event, which debuted last year, attracted 45 participants from 14 countries to the Norwegian city.

It was organised by the International Ski Federation (FIS), the Norwegian Ski Association, the Norwegian Centre for Elite Sports Research and the city of Trondheim.

The main goal of the seminar was "to provide a platform for exchanging best practices and expanding knowledge in key areas that are fundamental for the development of cross-country skiing".

Various speakers addressed those who were in attendance, including Norway's Olympic gold medallist Tor Arne Hetland.

He won the individual sprint title at the 2002 Games in Salt Lake City, and added a team sprint silver in Turin four years later.

Hetland also won three world titles during his successful career.

Other speakers were Norway's Ole Morten Iversen, a member of Sweden's cross-country coaching staff, and his son Emil, a former world junior champion in the 4 x 5 kilometer relay.

American ski coach Matt Whitcomb also spoke alongside Sweden's Johanna Ojala, Norway's Nicolas Lemyre and Francois Favre of France.
