Jarl Magnus Riiber claimed victory in the second International Ski Federation (FIS) Continental Cup (COC) competition on the Puijo hill in Kuopio.

The 18-year-old Norwegian Nordic Combined skier, who already has four podium finishes and one victory in the FIS World Cup to his name, posted the longest jumps in both rounds with 121.5 metres and 129m respectively, giving him a total of 228.9 points.

Second place went to Italian Alex Insam, who scored a total of 209.7 points with his jumps of 120m and 122.5m, equalling his best COC result so far.

Insam was also runner up in the event in Bischofshofen last January.

Krzysztof Mietus of Poland was Only 0.1 points behind Insam as he finished third with efforts of 120.5m and 123.5m.

That was the 25-year-old's best result since a second place in Kranj six years ago.

Jan Ziobro, who won two events on the first two days of competition in Kuopio, finished fourth, 1.1 points behind his teammate.

Slovenian Tilen Bartol moved up from ninth to fifth in the second round while his teammate Miran Zupancic finished seventh, behind Vojtech Stursa of the Czech Republic.

Yuken Iwasa of Japan, who achieved his first COC podium in third on Saturday, produced another convincing performance and came in eighth.

Behind him were Aleksander Zniszczol of Poland and Japan's Masamitsu Ito.

Jarkko Maeaettae was, like on the day before, the best Finn and after his win yesterday he came eleventh, followed by his teammate Lauri Asikainen.

Peter Prevc of Slovenia is still in the lead of the overall ranking with the 200 points he scored in the season opener in front of his home crowd in Kranj.

Jan Ziobro on 166 points and Jarkko Maeaettae with 124 points follow in second and third respectively.

The next competitions in the Continental Cup will be held on August 26th and 27th in Frenstat pod Radhostem in the Czech Republic.
