Popov warns Coe how "what goes around comes around"

It's been a quiet day on the Russian doping front, with no more releases yet from CAS into those Russian athletes, thought to be nine, still in limbo-land over whether they can participate at Rio 2016.

Some fairly strong comments, however, from Russian IOC member and former swimmer Alexander Popov.

“We admitted not everything is in order maybe in Russian sport, but this is our internal problem," the former swimmer told reporters. "And we really don’t like when somebody else sticks their nose into our business.”

On IAAF President Sebastian Coe, he added: “I hope that he will not regret his decision about Russian athletes because as you can say, what goes around comes around. I hope that he will sleep well at night.” There are also reports today that Coe, who four years ago was spearheading the London 2012 Games, has faced death threats since the IAAF continued their Russian suspension.
