The International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation (IBSF) has announced the 2016-2017 calendar for a number of its events, including the Intercontinental Cup Skeleton.

The first leg of the competition is due to take place in Austrian city Innsbruck from November 6 to 11, and will be followed by a stop in Königssee in Germany from November 13 to 18.

Calgary in Canada is scheduled to host the third leg from January 9 to 13 with the season finale set for Lake Placid in the United States from January 22 to 27.

The calendars have also been confirmed for the Para-Sport World Cup, North American Cup Bobsleigh and Skeleton, Europe Cup Bobsleigh and Europe Cup Skeleton.

The first leg of the Para-Sport World Cup is due to take place in Park City in the US from November 15 to 23 and will be followed by a stop in Norwegian town Lillehammer from January 15 to 21.

German town Oberhof is scheduled to host the third and final leg from January 23 to 28 after which the Para-Sport World Championships are set to be held in Swiss village St. Moritz from January 29 to February 5. 

The first leg of the North American Cup Bobsleigh and Skeleton is due to take place in Calgary from November 6 to 14.

It will be followed by a stop in Whistler in Canada from November 16 to 26.

Park City is scheduled to host the third leg from January 3 to 12 with the season finale set for Lake Placid from January 15 to 27.

The Europe Cup Bobsleigh will feature six stops with the first taking place in Latvian town Sigulda from October 31 to November 6 and the last scheduled for German town Winterberg from January 22 to 26.

Sigulda will also stage the first leg of the Europe Cup Skeleton from October 31 to November 4, while the fifth and last is scheduled for German city Altenburg from January 15 to 20.

There are a total of eight races in each of the Cup competitions with the majority of stops including two races.

Overall, IBSF athletes are set to compete on 10 different tracks in six countries.

Youngsters will compete for medals at the 2017 IBSF Junior World Bobsleigh Championships in Winterberg from January 27 to 29 and the 2017 IBSF Junior World Skeleton Championships in Sigulda from January 24 to 28.
