Free live-streaming of the Under-15 Baseball World Cup will be available to fans throughout the duration of the tournament, the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) have announced.

The competition is scheduled to begin tomorrow in Iwaki, which was one of the cities in northeastern Japan seriously damaged by the earthquake and tsunami that struck Japan in March 2011, with Fukushima suffering from nuclear meltdowns.

WBSC have now confirmed that live-streamed matches can be viewed via here, with the governing body claiming it will allow millions of fans to watch worldwide.

The matches will feature real-time, running commentary in English, with 26 of the 39 games due to be covered.

South Korea and the Czech Republic will be the first match to be featured, with the two nations due to get the tournament underway, before the United States take on Chinese Taipei tomorrow.

The Opening Ceremony will also be covered, ahead of the host nation’s match against Australia on the first day of action.

The announcement of the live stream comes after confirmation that WBSC had sealed seven deals with leading national networks in Asia, allowing the companies the broadcast rights in their respective countries.

Japanese satellite TV network J-Sports were awarded host broadcasting rights and will be overseeing video production of the third edition of the Under-15 Baseball World Cup.

The WBSC's online world feed will not be available to the seven countries who already have deals with the governing body, including Chinese Taipei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, South Korea and the host nation Japan.

At the conclusion of each match, highlights and video-on-demand are due to be available to worldwide audiences through WBSC's official social media platforms.

Defending champions Cuba are to play against world number one ranked Japan in Group A of the tournament, with Australia, the Czech Republic and South Korea.

The United States, Mexico, Panama, Chinese Taipei, New Zealand and Venezuela will contest Group B, before the knock-out phase of the competition begins.
