The International Triathlon Union (ITU) has penned an initial one-year deal with SEL Sport & Events Logistics.

The agreement means the company will serve as the governing body's global logistics partner for the rest of the 2016 season.

SEL will provide forward freighting for the ITU at events around the world, and will be an exclusive logistics partner for World Triathlon Series races in Australia, South Africa, Great Britain, Germany and Canada.

Another key role will be delivering inventory to the 2016 ITU Long Distance Triathlon World Championships in Oklahoma.

“SEL's proven history of delivering value to clients to the highest standards is well aligned with ITU’s core values,” said ITU President Marisol Casado, who is also a member of the International Olympic Committee.

"We are thrilled that a company such as SEL Logistics, which has more than 25 years of experience in major events, will be providing logistics services for our World Triathlon Series events.

"For more than 25 years, SEL has offered logistics services for a wide range of sports," he said.

"We are thrilled to now assist triathlon in their global shipping needs.

"Our expertise in international transports has made us adept at navigating the various different customs regulations from country to country.

"We pride ourselves on anticipating our clients’ needs, and look forward to ensuring ITU is able to organise top-notch triathlons with the safe delivery of their products."
