Teams from Cambodia, Jordan and Nepal are all receiving support from the World Taekwondo Federation's (WTF) “Booyoung Taekwondo Dream Programme” ahead of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

The project, titled after WTF partner and leading South Korean construction company, Booyoung, is designed to provide intensive pre-Olympic training for less wealthy Member Federations.

It began on June 15 and is due to run until July 12, with the programme headed by Yongin University Taekwondo Professor Yong-taek Kwak. 

It is due to take place at four South Korean locations famed for taekwondo in the Korea National Sports University, Kyunghee University, Yongin University and the Samsung S1 Training Center.

Nine athletes and coaches are set to participate.

Cambodia's Asian 2014 Asian Games champion Sorn Seavmey has qualified a spot in the over 67 kilogram category.

 Jordan's Ahmad Abu-Ghaush will compete in the men's under 68kg division.

Nisha Rawal will represent Nepal in the women's over 67kg event after the country was granted a Tripartite Commission position.

They have already visited the WTF headquarters in Seoul to meet with the its President Chungwon Chuoe.

“I hope this programme has upgraded your skills in preparation for the greatest sporting event on earth,” Choue said to the athletes. 

“I must also thank our partner Booyoung for its generosity in providing this opportunity, and Professor Kwak and the institutions which offered their facilities.”
