Cross-country skier Jessica Diggins was among those to be honoured at the US Ski and Snowboard Association's (USSA) annual Chairman's Awards Dinner.

The 24-year-old, who won World Championship gold in the team sprint in 2013, enjoyed a breakthrough 2015-16 season on the International Ski Federation (FIS) World Cup circuit.

She has been awarded the Beck International Award after a campaign which included her first individual win, over five kilometres in Tolbach, Italy, in January.

Diggins skied to seven podiums in all and finished eighth in the overall standings, helping the Americans to one of its best ever cross-country seasons.

Others to be honoured included the late Bob Dart, who posthumously received the Julius Blegen Award, the USSA's highest accolade which is presented to a member who contributes "outsanding service" to skiing or snowboarding in the United States.

Dart, who sadly passed away in November at the age of 64, was a volunteer and ski area professional and has been described as the "quintessential USSA supporter".

He dedicated much of his life to serving athletes as a competition official, mountain manager, committee leader or technical delegate.

US Alpine Ski Team coach Brandon Dyksterhouse received the International Coach of the Year award for his work with the women's FIS World Cup team.

His athletes secured success in the competition, including five consecutive victories by Olympic slalom champion Mikaela Shiffrin.
