Mexico set up a repeat of their London 2012 bronze medal match against South Korea after beating Spain in the semi-finals of men’s recurve team competition at the second stage of the Archery World Cup in Medellín.

Having earlier beaten hosts Colombia 6-0 and the United States 5-4, the seventh-seeded trio of Juan Rene Serrano, Ernesto Boardman and Oldair Zamora claimed a 6-2 win over their Spanish opponents.

It gives them the opportunity to avenge their London 2012 defeat at the hands of South Korea, the top seeds who overcame Canada 6-2 in the last four.

Mexico still have a chance to qualify a full team for Rio 2016 at stage three of the Archery World Cup in Antalya in Turkey.

"We have trained a lot and sometimes we think about how to beat them," said Zamora in reference to his team's gold medal match opponents.

"We would like to get the chance to win the Olympic spot in Antalya and beat them as well.

"We want to beat them with 55 or 56 points in each end.

"We are trying to control our nerves and be more relaxed during the matches and it has been working well so far.

"The key will be to remember all we do in our training and apply it in competition."
