Russia's Sergey Malyshev topped the P1 10 metres air pistol men SH1 podium at the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Shooting World Cup in Polish city Szczecin today.

The two-time Paralympic silver medallist scored a total of 193.4 points to finish ahead of the United States’ Marco De La Rosa, second with 192.3, and Mongolia’s Ganbaatar Zandraa, third with 171.9.

In the R1 10m air rifle standing men SH1, Germany's Josef Neumaier achieved first place with 203.7 points, followed by Greece's Sotirios Galogavros with 202.3 and then Ukraine's Andrii Doroshenko with 183.0. 

The competition in Szczecin provides the final chance for athletes to shoot at a World Cup ahead of the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.

Although Rio 2016 quota places have already been decided, athletes are looking to impress their national coaches as they look to secure their spots at the Paralympics, where competition will take place from September 8 to 14.
