Top seed Chen Long remains will face team-mate and number two seed Lin Dan in an all-Chinese men’s final at the Badminton World Federation (BWF) China Masters at the Changzhou Olympic Center.

Chen had been yet to lose a game all tournament ahead of his semi-final clash against Thailand’s Tanongsak Saensomboonsuk and looked like maintaining that record by winning the opener 21-15.

The number 12 seed hit back, however, to claim a tight second game by 21-19 to take the contest into a decider.

Chen came through his toughest test of the tournament, a BWF Grand Prix Gold event, regaining the momentum to win the final game 21-14.

The second semi-final saw Lin claim a straightforward 21-13, 21-15 win over his compatriot Lin Guipu.

Olympic champion Li Xuerui continued to impress in the women’s singles event, recording  a 21-14, 22-20 win over Thailand’s Porntip Buranaprasertsuk to reach the final.

The Chinese star will now face the challenge of her team-mate Sun Yu, who emerged as a 23-21, 21-14 winner in another all-Chinese clash against Chen Yufei.

Success for the host nation is also guaranteed in the women’s doubles as the top seeded Luo Ying and Luo Yu overcame Indonesia’s Della Destiara Haris and Rosyita Eka Putri Sari by 21-9, 21-11.

Their team-mates Chen Qingchen and Jia Yifan lie in wait in the final, after their all-Chinese final against Huang Dongping and Zhong Qianxin ended early, with their rivals pulling out through injury at 21-13 3-4 down.

South Korea’s Lee Yong Dae and Yoo Yeon Seong continued to justify their status as men’s doubles top seeds, beatig China’s Huang Kaixiang and Zheng Siwei 21-15, 21-19.

They will now face compatriots Kim Gi Jung and Kim Sa Rang, with the South Korean pair having beaten Japan’s Takeshi Kamura and Keigo Sonoda 21-16, 23-21 in the last four.

In the mixed doubles event, China’s Xu Chen and Ma Jin beat Peng Soon Chan and Liu Ying Goh of Malaysia 21-11, 21-11.

The win ensures yet another China gold medal after Zheng Siwei and Chen Qingchen progressed to the final by securing a 21-17, 21-11 win over Japan’s Yuta Watanabe and Arisa Higashino.
