British Lionhearts secured their place in the World Series of Boxing (WSB) semi-finals after beating Ukraine Otamans 4-1 at York Hall in London to complete an 8-2 aggregate win.

The Lionhearts needed to win only two of their five bouts this evening to seal overall victory and they achieved exactly that at the earliest opportunity thanks to impressive performances from flyweight Ronny Beblik and lightweight Luke McCormack.

Beblik made it 5-1 on aggregate with a unanimous points win over Denys Shkarubo before McCormack triumphed by the same margin against Vitaliy Solyanik to put the Lionhearts into an unassailable lead.

Otamans' Serhii Bohachuk pulled a point back for his team courtesy of a split decision win over Ekow Tabiri-Essuman at welterweight.

Any hopes of making the final scoreline more respectable were dashed as Lionhearts' light heavyweight Radoslav Dimitrov Pantaleev and super heavyweight Frazer Clarke both saw off their respective opponents.

Pantaleev won by split decision against Denys Solonenko and Clarke capped off an emphatic victory with a fifth-round TKO against Vladyslav Sirenko.

Today's other quarter-final second leg saw Cuba Domadores defeat Mexico Guerreros 5-0 at the Coliseo de la Ciudad Deportiva in Havana, resulting in a 10-0 whitewash overall.

Flyweight Yosbany Veitia got Domadores off to the perfect start with a third-round TKO against Jose Rojas before lightweight Lazaro Alvarez Estrada, welterweight Roniel Iglesias and light heavyweight Julio La Cruz all picked up wins by unanimous decision against Lindolfo Delgado, Marvin Cabrera and Rogelio Romero respectively.

Super heavyweight Lenier Pero Justi ended the night as it had started with a third-round TKO against Elvis Garcia.

Elsewhere, defending WSB champions Astana Arlans Kazakhstan beat Caciques Venezuela 4-1 in their quarter-final first leg at the Track and Field Sport Complex in Shymkent.

Also in the driving seat are Uzbek Tigers, who snatched a 3-2 win against the Russian Boxing Team in the first leg of their tie at the Sports Palace Volga in Ulyanovsk.

The second legs are scheduled for tomorrow.
