Adylbek came up against a tricky opponent in Turkmenistan’s Aziz Achilov but negotiated the challenge with ease, booking his ticket to the Brazilian city with a unanimous win.

The gold medal in the category went to Elshod Rasulov of Uzbekistan after two judges chose him as the winner of his bout against top seed Adilbek Niyazymbetov of Kazakhstan, with the other unable to separate the two athletes.

The event in Qian’an is due to conclude tomorrow.
