USA Pentathlon managing director Rob Stull has been elected as the President of the Confederation of Modern Pentathlon for North America, Central America and the Caribbean (NORECA).

The 55-year-old was standing to succeed Juan Manzo, President of the Mexican Modern Pentathlon Federation.

Having been elected as the new regional President, Stull will now join the International Modern Pentathlon Union (UIPM) Executive Board.

He will join John Helmick on the Board

His fellow American currently serving at the UIPM’s treasurer.

During his career as an athlete, Stull competed at two Olympic Games.

The American finished 48th at Seoul 1988 and 20th at Barcelona four years later. 

He narrowly missed out on a medal in the team event at Barcelona after the American team finished in fourth.

Stull also competed in fencing at Seoul 1988.

The elections were held during the 2016 Pan American Championships due to take in Argentina’s capital Buenos Aires.

Competition at the Championships is scheduled to take place until Sunday (March 20).
