Chris Vos has extended his advantage at the top of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Snowboarding World Cup banked slalom standings after taking victory in Formigueres in France today.

The Dutch world champion, who lost to Austria's Reinhold Schett in the IPC Europa Cup yesterday, triumphed in the men’s SB-LL1 in the Pyrenees.

Eighteen-year-old Vos recorded a best run of 1 min 6.34 sec as Schett was second this time in 1:07.92.

Mike Ultee, another Dutchman, claimed third place and his debut World Cup podium as he was timed at 1:13.09.

Vos now leads Schett by 800 points in the banked slalom rankings with one race left remaining this season in Trentino, Italy.

In the women's SB-LL1, American Nicole Roundy took victory to close the gap on France's Cecile Hernandez-Cervellon.

Roundy's best run of 1:13.98 beat the Frenchwoman's 1:19.17, with the latter now boasting only a 400 point lead over her rival.

A two-way tie at the top of the men’s SB-LL2 leaderboard now exists between Finland's Suur-Hamari and American Michael Shea after the Scandinavian took the race victory today.

Suur-Hamari’s best run of 1:02.20 secured him the win with US Paralympic gold medallist Evan Strong second after clocking 1:02.37.

Shea was third with a time of 1:03.19 meaning both him and the Finn have 3,200 points heading to Trentino.

In the women's event, Dutch world champion Bibian Mentel-Spee won with a time of 1:06.27 ahead of team-mate Lisa Bunschoten who came home in 1:10.92.

Australia's Joany Badenhorst finished in 1:13.89 and was third.

Bunschoten’s podium finish was enough for her to take the overall World Cup banked slalom globe with one race to spare.

Austria’s world champion Patrick Mayrhofer was in form once again in the men’s SB-UL after backing up his win in the Europa Cup yesterday.

Mayrhofer’s last run of 1:05:60 was his best attempt, securing 1,000 points to narrow the gap between him and the USA’s Michael Minor who finished second in 1:06.65.

France’s Maxime Montaggioni was timed at 1:08.56 for third.

Minor’s lead over Mayrhofer in the overall rankings is now down to 400 points.

In the women’s SB-UL, the Netherlands’ Renske van Beek was timed at 1:19.91 and claimed her third banked slalom World Cup of the season to cement her overall win.

Argentina’s Celeste Pedrosa Bersano was timed at 2:03.87 in second.

The Trentino World Cup will take place between March 15 and 18.
