The Swaziland Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association (SOCGA) reportedly spent around SZL 800,000 (£34,700/$50,300/€44,700) in preparing their team for 2015 All-Africa Games.

A total of 14 athletes represented the country at the Games, which took place from September 4 to 19 in Congo Brazzaville.

The country were also represented by a cycling team for the first time at the Games, the 11th time they had been held.

Darren Dunn, Similo Nyoni, Linda Loffler and Carol du Pont made up the four-member cycling team, who received sponsorship of SZL 30,000 (£1,300/$1,900/€1,700) according to the Swazi Observer.

Meanwhile their athletics team consisted of sprinters Sibusiso Bruno Matsenjwa, Phumlile Ndzinisa and Mlandvo Matsamo Shongwe, while Thabiso Selby Dlamini and Sitembiso Mkhwanazi took part in boxing.

Their overall team was completed by tennis players Bruce Gama and judokas Mashumi Nkululeko Sihlogonyane and Ben Magagula.

Eight team officials were present at the Games, with the delegation being led by their Chef de Mission Peter Shongwe.

The SOCGA were believed to have contributed SZL 188,000 (£10,500/$11,800/€10,500) towards their team, with around SZL 500,000 (£21,700/$31,400/€27,900) having come from the Swaziland National Sports and Recreation Council.

Swaziland failed to secure a medal at the Games, despite the funding.
