This year's International Ski Federation (FIS) Snowboard Cross World Cup final, due to be held in La Molina next month, has been moved because of the lack of snow.

The event has now been relocated to Baqueira Beret on the same weekend as originally scheduled, March 19 and 20.

"The new resort is located in a similar distance to Barcelona, therefore the team travel plannings can remain the same," the FIS said in a statement.

This year's calendar for several sports has been wrecked by the unseasonably warm conditions which have forced the FIS to either cancel, re-arrange or re-locate several events.

Baqueira-Beret is a ski resort located in the heart of the Pyrenees, in the Aran Valley and Àneu Valley Lleida.

It is Spain's most visited winter resort with 146 kilometres of marked pistes, 7km of marked off-piste and 7km of cross-country ski and 2,166 hectares of ski area.
