French Tennis Federation (FFT) director general Gilbert Ysern has reportedly been sacked following disputes within the organisation.

The FFT confirmed that Ysern, who has been in the role since 2008, was under threat with the possibility that his tenure was due to come to an end.

"The French Federation has made public that a procedure, that could go up to termination has been initiated against Gilbert Ysern," they wrote in a statement.

"Pending the outcome of this procedure, the Acting FFT Branch is now assured by Jérémy Botton.”

Ysern appears to have confirmed his departure from the organisation, however,as he told French newspaper L'Équipe: “It's very brutal, I bother people but I have nothing to reproach myself.”

Ysern is believed to have clashed with the FTT President President Jean Gachassin in recent months regarding the management of the organisation.

The departure of Arnaud Clement as the French Davis Cup captain in September is viewed as a one of the key issues.

He was replaced by Yannick Noah, the last French player to win a Grand Slam singles title when he triumphed at the French Open in 1983.

Noah's appointment saw him return to the role for the third time, having led the French team to victories in the tournament in 1991 and 1996.
