Nico Walther secured his second win of the four-man bobsleigh World Cup season after leading a German one-two in Park City in the United States.

Pushed by Marko Hübenbecker, Christian Poser and Eric Franke, the world silver medal-winning pilot clocked a time of 1 min 36.38sec to finish with a lead of just 0.02 seconds ahead of compatriot Maximilian Arndt and his crew of Kevin Korona, Martin Putze and Ben Heber.

The Swiss team, piloted by Rico Peter and pushed by Bror van der Zijde, Thomas Amrhein and Fabio Badraun, had to settle for third place, 0.08 seconds off the pace.

American Steven Holcomb claimed his best result this winter by coming seventh on home ice with Frank DelDuca, Carlo Valdes and Samuel McGuffie.

South Korea’s crew of Yunjong Won, Jinsu Kim, Kyunghyun Kim and Jeahan Oh also performed admirably, finishing 11th to ensure the best-ever four-man bobsleigh result for the country which will host the 2018 Winter Olympic Games in Pyeongchang.

Canada's double Olympic champion Kallie Humphries, who made history by piloting the first all-female crew in the men's four-man in Lake Placid earlier this month, finished in last place after completing just one of the two runs with Cynthia Appiah, Melissa Lotholz and Genevieve Thibault.

After six of this season’s eight World Cup races, Arndt tops the overall standings with 1,265 points.

Fellow German Francesco Friedrich is second on 1,178, after finishing fourth in Park City, and Peter is third with 1,168.

The penultimate four-man event of the season is scheduled to take place on February 7 in St. Moritz, Switzerland.
