Draws for the 2015 Junior Davis and Fed Cups have been announced by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) with competition set to take place until October 4 at the Caja Magica in Madrid, Spain.

Both cups, the Davis for male players and the Fed for females, see 16 teams separated into four groups of four and following a round robin phase the top team in each will earn qualification for the semi-finals, when the tournament becomes a straight knock-out event.

The United States are attempting to defend both titles and their girls’ team of Claire Liu, Michaela Gordon and Kayla Day will begin their Fed Cup campaign with matches against Egypt, New Zealand and the hosts Spain in Group D.

However, the Americans begin the competition as second seeds as the Czech team of Marketa Vondrousova, Monika Kilnarova and Anna Slovakova have been deemed the team to beat and they are set to face the challenge of Australia, Argentina and The Netherlands in Group A.

Meanwhile, Great Britain, Canada, Colombia and Japan are due to meet in Group B, while Russia, Brazil, Chinese Taipei and Italy make up Group C of the tournament.

Barring the hosts, each of the teams made it through regional qualifying throughout the year to earn their places in the 16 and under age group tournaments, which have previously included several world stars such as Romania’s Simona Halep, Serbia’s Novak Djokovic and Spain’s Rafael Nadal.

Alejandro Davidovich Fukina, Nikolas Sanchez-Izquierdo Vivar and Andres Fernandez Canovas will be hoping to follow in Nadal’s footsteps as they head up the hosts'  challenge in the Junior Davis Cup.

However, they will have to contend with the threat posed by third seeds the United States in Group C of the tournament, as well as Japan and Brazil.

Canada begin as the number one seeds and will attempt to top Group A ahead of the Czech Republic, Hong Kong and Poland, while Group B consists of Russia, Chinese Taipei, Sweden and Argentina.

Second seeds Australia meanwhile will be the favourites to advance from Group D, where they are set to meet Colombia, Germany and South Africa.

The tournament begins today with matches featuring two singles and one doubles game, in a best of three format.
