Katrina Adams, President of United States Tennis Association (USTA), is one of three International Tennis Federation (ITF) vice-presidents to have been named today under new leader David Haggerty.

Completing the trio is India's Asian Tennis Federation head Anil Khanna, who received 192 votes to Haggerty's 200 in the second ballot of yesterday's ITF Presidential election in Santiago, as well as Swiss Professional Tennis Association President Rene Stammbach, who was eliminated in the first ballot along with Juan Margets of Spain.

The decision was taken at the first meeting of the new ITF Board of Directors in Chile's capital.

"The selection of vice-presidents reflects the diversity on the new Board, and the experience of these Board members," said Haggerty.

"The whole ITF Board is committed to working together over the next four years to enable the continued growth of the organisation."

Adams was one of nine new appointments made to the ITF Board of Directors yesterday along with Great Britain's Martin Corrie, Egypt's Ismail El Shafei, France's Bernard Giudicelli, Denmark's Thomas Koenigsfeldt, New Zealand's Celia Patrick, Russia's Aleksei Selivanenko, Bulgaria's Stefan Tzvetkov and Kazakhstan's Bulat Utemuratov.

They join returning members Khanna and Stammbach, as well as Sergio Elias of Chile and Jack Graham of Canada.

An experienced official, new ITF President Haggerty has held a variety of roles within the USTA since 2001 and within the ITF since 2009.

He served as chairman, chief executive and President of the USTA from 2013 to 2014, and was a vice-president on the ITF Board of Directors between 2013 and 2015.

Haggerty is also a former President of the Tennis Industry Association and a current Board member of the International Tennis Hall of Fame, while he has also had a 30-year career in the racket industry, and is a former chairman of Head USA, and President of both Penn Racquet Sports and Dunlop Maxfli Slazenger Sports.

Shifting from his previous role as ITF vice-president, a key part of Haggerty's election manifesto is reviewing the formats of the Davis Cup and Fed Cup.

Italy's Ricci Bitti, also the chairman of the Association of Summer Olympic International Federations, is standing down as ITF President after 16 years at the helm and is now pledging to focus on his roles within the Olympic Movement.
