Locations of competitions for the 2016, 2017 and 2018 seasons have been decided upon by the International Shooting Federation (ISSF) Executive Committee and Administrative Council during an annual meeting in Lonato, Italy.

Both Munich in Germany and Thailand’s capital city Bangkok have been revealed as locations for World Cup rifle and pistol events, while Cypriot capital Nicosia and San Marino are due to host World Cup shotgun events during the year.

The Spanish city of Granada had also been expected to host a rifle and pistol event, but it has now been moved to Azerbaijan’s capital Baku where it will be incorporated as part of a shotgun World Cup.

Another combined competition is set to be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Both World Cups are due to come to a close in Italy with Rome due to host the shotgun final and Bologna set to stage the finale to the rifle and pistol final, while the World Championship Running Target is due to be held in Suhl, Germany.

The world’s best shooters will all have their eye on securing Olympic glory when they compete at the National Shooting Center at Rio 2016, with competition set for August 6 to 14.

A total of five stages will make up the 2017 World Cup programme with New Delhi in India set to be the only location to hold a combined event, while Acapulco in Mexico is due to stage a shotgun competition, as is Nicosia once again.

Gabala in Azerbaijan and Munich will host rifle and pistol events.

The year is also set to see the shotgun World Championships take place in Russia’s capital city Moscow, while the first edition of Junior World Championships for rifle and pistol shooting is scheduled for Suhl.

Changwon in South Korea is set to hold a combined competition to kick start the 2018 season, with the World Cup also set to act as a test event for the World Championships in all events, set to take place from August 21 to September 14.

Another combined World Cup stage is set to be organised in Guadalajara, Mexico, while shotgun competitions are set to be held in the Maltese town of Mosta and the Tuscon, United States.

The rifle and pistol World Cup is also set to head to America with Fort Benning hosting one leg, while another will take place in Munich.

Young shooters will also have their opportunity to showcase their abilities at the Youth Olympic Games, which are due to be held in Argentina’s capital city Buenos Aires, between October 1 and 12.
