Dairy product giants Müller have become an official partner of the British team on the road to the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, the British Olympic Association (BOA) has announced.

The company will have exclusive branding rights across their range of products in the lead-up to the event and will also give supporters the chance to win Team GB-related prizes ahead of the Games in the Brazilian city.

Müller are due to release the names of a series of ambassadors who will help support the Team GB Live Sites programme, which aims to offer a unique service to fans by providing a range of experiences.

“Müller is a market-leading brand, and we are delighted they are an official Team GB partner,” BOA chairman Sebastian Coe, recently elected as International Association of Athletics Federations President, said.

“They will provide significant support in engaging our Olympic loving nation in the build-up to the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.”

Müller are one of the most-recognised dairy product companies and will carry on-pack promotions related to Team GB across their vast portfolio of brands.

They join the likes of Adidas, Aldi, British Petroleum, Fitness First, Deloitte, DFS and Nissan on the list of the BOA’s official partners.

“We are thrilled to welcome Müller to our family of Team GB Partners,” BOA chief executive Bill Sweeney added.

“Müller is ambitious and committed to its further development in Britain, and fits very well with our own Team GB values.

“The partnership also fits with our desire to work with partners committed to activating their association with Team GB through consumer programmes.”

Britain are hoping to improve on their excellent medal haul at their home Olympics and Paralympics in 2012, where they secured a total of 65 medals, 29 of which were gold, when they compete at Rio 2016.

Next year’s Games in the Brazilian city begin on August 5 and run through to August 21.
