The table tennis test event ahead of the Rio 2016 Olympics will be held between November 18-21 at the Riocentro, it has been announced.

All four disciplines which will feature next summer are set to be included – Men's Team, Women's Team, Men's Singles and Women's Singles – with the tournament set to be known as the 2015 Aquece Rio International.

As with test events for other sports, the competition will be a chance for players, coaches and officials to try-out the Barra da Tijuca venue and get a grasp of the conditions ahead of the Olympics.

In the team competitions, the seven leading national associations have been invited to join hosts Brazil.

The men's line-up will feature China, Germany, Japan, Korea Republic, Portugal, Hong Kong and Chinese Taipei while in the women's section, China, Japan, Singapore, Korea Republic, Hong Kong, Korea DPR and The Netherlands will compete.

In addition a further eight men and eight women, who are not involved in the team events, will be invited to compete in the respective men's singles and women's singles.

They comprise of the leading player from each continent on the May world ranking list plus the two highest players who have not qualified by the preceding requisites.

As things stand Omar Assar of Egypt, Gao Ning of Singapore, Vladimir Samsonov of Belarus, Marcos Madrid of Mexico, Eugene Wang of Canada and William Henzell of Australia have all been invited to play in the men's draw.

On the women's side, Egypt's Dina Meshref, Cheng I-Ching of Chinese Taipei, German Han Ying, Yadira Silva of Mexico, Zhang Mo of Canada and Jian Fang Lay of Australia have all received invites so far.

Table tennis is scheduled to be played at Rio 2016 between August 6-17.
