A video has been released for the official anthem of this year’s men’s European Volleyball Championships scheduled to take place in Bulgaria and Italy.

The newly-produced clip features footage from young Bulgarian pop-artist Niki Bakalov’s live performances of "Heroes" in front of volleyball fans at the Palace of Culture and Sports in Varna, one of the venues of EuroVolley 2015, as well as motion pictures of the Italian national team.

It is said to present a perfect illustration of the incredible ambience the fans usually create, and give a hint of what may be expected at the four competition halls once the battles for continental honours get underway in October.

The lyrics of the song constitute a tribute to the fans made by a volleyball hero whose confession is "Our victories belong to those who cheer us".

The anthem was first introduced to the audiences live during February's drawing of lots ceremony in Sofia.

Action is due to begin on October 9 before concluding on October 18, with Russia looking to defend the title they won for the first time in 2013.

As well as the hosts and holders, the 16 nation line-up will be completed by Serbia, France, Germany, Belgium, Belarus, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, The Netherlands, Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia.

Full standings, statistics, statements and galleries will be available via the official website, launched last Friday (August 21), once the action begins.

The website, accessible here, was released to coincide with the 50-day countdown, targeting "those eager fans that cannot wait to start getting into the right state of mind in preparation for Europe’s premium volleyball competition".
