Eduard Ramanov leads the candidates for the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Allianz Athlete of the Month poll for June 2015 after helping Russia win their second consecutive Cerebral Palsy Football World Championships at St George's Park in Burton on Trent in England.

Ramonov was voted the tournament's most valuable player as Russia beat Ukraine 1-0 in the final, a repeat of their victory in the Paralympic Games at London 2012.

His team also collected the fair play award, which was voted by match officials on a match-by-match basis.

Ramonov is joined on the five-athlete shortlist by another Russian, Maksim Sedakov, who recorded two perfect scores at the IPC Wheelchair Dance Sport Serbian Open in Belgrade.

He won two gold medals with partner Svetlana Kukushina and also claimed victory in the men's singles.

They are joined by Portuguese boccia player Domingos Vieira, who upset Canada's number one Marco Dispaltro in the quarter-finals of the BC4 event, en route to winning gold at the World Open in Poznan.

He also won gold in the BC4 pairs event with Pedro Clara.

Also nominated is Dutch wheelchair tennis player Jiske Griffioen.

She captured the Roland Garros women's singles title, which elevated her to the number one world ranking.

Griffioen then consolidated that position by winning her first BNP Paribas Open de France Super Series title.

The shortlist is completed by British swimmer Bethany Firth.

Firth set her fourth world record of the year in the women's 200 metres freestyle S14 at the Scottish National Open Championships, adding to her 200m individual medley, 100m breaststroke and 100m backstroke marks from March.

Unfortunately, she has had to withdraw from next month's IPC Swimming World Championships in Glasgow due to a fractured wrist.

The nominations are compiled from submissions by National Paralympic Committees International Federations (IFs).

The public has until 12:00 CEST on July 9 to vote for who they want to be the Athlete of the Month for June 2015 by clicking here.

The winner for May was Italy's Paralympic and world champion sprinter Martina Caironi.
