Toronto 2015 Pan American Games tickets have been put back on sale, following a temporary closure in March, when the focus was shifted to sales for the Parapan American Games.

Among the tickets made available were those to the Opening and Closing Ceremonies, while other high profile and popular events, such as basketball and football, also saw went back on sale.

But, due to the popular demand for basketball, baseball and football,  the gold medal matches for those events had already been sold out prior to the temporary closure, with 350,000 tickets purchased by fans, who are set to pack out venues in the Canadian city.

Seats for football and basketball remain for the preliminary rounds, in which spectators  will be able to see two matches for the price of one, while baseball fans are still able to watch some of the best players from the Americas compete on route to the final.

Tickets are set to be competitive with stars athletes being confirmed as teams are announced ahead of the Games which begin on July 10, with swimming star Ryan Cochrane among the Canadian athletes due to participate.

A second wave of tickets will be made available on April 30, with fans able to purchase tickets for all events at the Games from May 8.

Toronto 2015 are aiming to give fans the opportunity to witness action at an affordable price, as 75 per cent of tickets costing CAD$45 (£25/$37/€34)and under, with prices beginning at CAD$20 (£11/$16/€15).

Additionally half-price tickets can be bought by people aged 65 and over or under the age of 16, with some discount tickets starting at CAD$10 (£5.50/$8/€7.50), while every event ticket will see the holder gain access to transport on the day of their event.

"With every day that we get closer to the Opening Ceremony, you can feel the momentum and excitement build," said Michael Coteau, the Ontario Minister Responsible for the 2015 Pan/Parapan American Games

"I know how proud our Canadian athletes are to compete in front of home crowds at the Games, and the strong early demand for tickets shows that Canadians and fans the world over are just as excited to join in this special experience.

"The Toronto 2015 Pan Am and Parapan Am Games will be the event of the year, and I invite everyone to get their tickets while they can.” 

Spectators are also still able to purchase tickets for Pan American Games events, such as baseball and softball or wheelchair basketball and wheelchair rugby.

Tickets for Parapan American Games event range from CAD$20 (£11/$16/€15) to CAD$35 (£19/$29/€27)for adults, while a limited number of discounted tickets costing between CAD$10 (£5.50/$8/€7.50) to CAD$12.50 (£6.80/$10.20/€9.50) can still be bought by those aged over 65 or under 16.
