A limited edition of special commemorative Three Years to Go (3YTG) lapel pins have been produced by the Gold Coast 2018 to mark the occasion tomorrow.
A total of 15,000 3YTG surfboard-shaped lapel pins will be given away to anyone purchasing a copy of tomorrow's local newspaper, The Gold Coast Bulletin.
April 4 marks exactly four years until the start of the Commonwealth Games.
Readers need to redeem the coupon on page two of the newspapers at their local shop to receive a pin, while stocks last.
The pins have been designed by Gold Coast 2018 and supplied by the Organising Committee's local-based merchandise supplier, Lifestyle Australia.
Among those to have already received special editions of the pin are local television personality Liz Cantor.
"I think I will put it on display in the kitchen," Cantor, who presents Queensland Weekender, Creek to Coast and 7 News, told the Gold Coast Bulletin.
"Being a lifestyle-show presenter, I can't wait to see our city showcased to the world.
"And I'm a sports nut, so I am really looking forward to seeing all the action unfold here."
