The former world number one headed into the International Tennis Federation (ITF) Series 1 event as an unseeded player, with a world ranking of 20, after an injury saw him side-lined for much of 2014.

But Jeremiasz belied his ranking by dispatching of three seeds in his opening four matches, before taking the title with a 7-5, 6-4 win over the defending champion Gordon Reid of Britain.

"After seventh months out with injury last year I had a very intense training this winter to try to be back at my best level," Jeremiasz.

"After these two weeks in America I definitely can say I'm back."

Jeremiasz's superb week in Louisana continued as he joined forces with fellow Frenchman Nicolas Peifer to defeat Reid and Belgium's Joachim Gerard 10-2 in a Championship tie-break after both pairs had won a set 6-3.

Germany's Sabine Ellerbrock enjoyed a similarly stellar week to Jeremiasz in the women's singles competitions, as a week on from becoming the first German to win the Pensacola Open title, Ellerbrock clinched Cajun Classic singles and doubles titles.

The top seed was made to fight for the singles title by Jordanne Whiley in the final, after the British player bounced back from losing the first set 6-3 to level the match by winning the second 7-5.

Whiley was unable to maintain the momentum, though, as Ellerbrock bounced back to claim a decisive break on her way to winning the final set 6-4 to seal the title.

The German then claimed the doubles crown alongside Britain's Lucy Shuker as they overcame top seeds Whiley and her partner Marjolein Buis of The Netherlands.
