The Cuba Domadores were victorious in one of the most eagerly anticipated fixtures of the season ©WSBDefending World Series of Boxing (WSB) champions the Cuba Domadores claimed their most impressive victory of the season by ending the Russian Boxing Team's stunning home form in Moscow.

The Group A fixture was eagerly anticipated, with Russian boxers yet to taste a defeat in all 25 home fights of season V, while the Domadores travelled to the Russian capital unbeaten and chasing a tenth consecutive victory.

Cuban flyweight Yosbany Veitia inflicted the first home defeat of the season on the Russian Boxing Team, claiming a unanimous points verdict over Ovik Ogannisian, a result which kept him top of the individual flyweight standings and poised for Rio 2016.

The Russian Boxing Team also suffered defeat in the second bout when lightweight Atur Subkhankulov lost a split decision against Domadores' Lazaro Alvarez, who moved into lead in the lightweight rankings.

There was disappointment, though, for Cuba's London 2012 gold medallist Roniel Iglesias Sontolongo, who found himself on the wrong side of all three judges scorecards in his welterweight bout with Radzhab Butaev.

It proved to be the only success for the Russian Boxing Team as Julio César La Cruz earned a dominant points victory over Gamzat Gazaliev in the light heavyweight division.

Then Lenier Eunice Pero sealed a 4-1 success for the Domadores, inflicting a first defeat of the season on Maxim Babanin with a unanimous points victory in the super heavyweight division.

The Russian Boxing Team's defeat allowed the Ukraine Otamans to close the gap to them in the Group A table, after they claimed a 4-1 home triumph over the China Dragons in Kyiv.

Azat Usenaliev, Oleg Zubenko and Oleksandr Khyzhniak claimed victory in every round of their respective flyweight, welterweight and light heavyweight fights, to secure the victory for the Otamans.

The China Dragons only success of the night came in the lightweight division as judges awarded Jun Shan every round of his bout with Oleg Prudkyi.

But Ihor Shevadzutskyi added further gloss to the scoreline for the Otamans as he won his super heavyweight clash with Zhibao Wang by a technical knockout in the fourth round.

In the final Group A fixture of the weekend the Mexico Guerreros travel to Blida in Algeria, to face the Algeria Desert Hawks tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Group B will see the Astana Arlans Kazakhstan host the Azerbaijan Baku Fires in Shymkent as they attempt to claim their tenth successive win, while Caciques Venezuela have a home fixture against the USA Knockouts in Caracas.

Italia Thunder and Rafako Hussars Poland will travel to San Juan and San Luis, as they take on the Puerto Rico Hurricanes and Argentina Condors in their respective fixtures.
