Kearney, who had already secured her fifth-straight moguls crystal globe heading into the season-ending event, beat Canada's Chloe Dufour-Lapointe in the big final after overcoming another Canadian, Andi Naude, in the last four.

The 29-year-old's victory was her 46th in 117 World Cup starts and brings her level with fellow countrywoman Donna Weinbrecht.

The Vancouver 2010 Olympic gold medallist announced at the start of the campaign that it would be her last, but before travelling to Megeve, she hinted that she is keeping her options open.

"I've learned that it's hard to make announcements in a sport you love," Kearney told NBC Sports.

Dufour-Lapointe's sister Justine beat Naude in the small final to claim the bronze medal.

Meanwhile, in the men's event, France's Anthony Benna defeated America's Thomas Rowley in the big final as Canada's Mikael Kingsbury missed the chance to make World Cup history.

The overall champion Kingsbury was aiming to secure a record 29th moguls title, which would have put him ahead of France's Edgar Grospiron, but crashed out in the quarter-finals against American Bryon Wilson.

Having won four titles in the six seasons he has been on the World Cup tour, it i highly likely that Kingsbury will break the record, which has stood since 1995, in the next campaign.

Wilson fell short in the small final as Russia's Alexandr Smyshlyaev took the bronze medal.
