Jade Jones trailed 8-0 before bouncing back to earn a golden point victory in Switzerland ©Getty ImagesLondon 2012 Olympic champion Jade Jones fought back to earn victory at the Swiss Open in Montreux and claim her third consecutive gold medal of the year.

Jones was trailing 8-0 in the final of the women's under 57kg event to Sweden's Nikita Glasnovic but recovered to level the match, before sealing a dramatic win by claiming the golden point.

"Well that was a scare," Jones admitted after her victory.

"I was 8-0 down in the final and couldn't see out of one eye.

"It felt like I was in a Rocky movie, panic."

There was further success for the British team as they left the Open with two gold medals after 17-year-old Max Carter overcame Mexico's Cesar Rodriquez in the under 54kg event.

However Mexican athletes stood on top of the podium in the women's under 53kg and men's under 68kg, as Diana Lara and Isaac Ramon Torres Vazquez took gold in the respective events.

France and Germany left the Swiss Open with two gold medals, with Maeva Mellier and Gwladys Epangue taking titles for France in the women's middle and heavyweight categories, while Yassine Trabelsi and Volker Wodzich claimed gold for Germany in the equivalent men's events.

Ana Bajic and Milos Gladovic secured titles for Serbia as the medals were well spread among the competing nations, with thosts Switzerland also earning a title as Nina Klaey won the women's under 62kg event.

Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Italy and Turkey were all able to leave Montreux with one gold to add to their collections and they will hope for further success, with the venue scheduled to host the 2016 European Championships from May 16 to 23.

The Swiss Open continued the build up to this year's World Taekwondo Championships, which are set to take place in the Russian city of Chelyabinsk from May 16 to 23.
