The move comes with just months until the event gets underway in last year's Paralympic Winter Games host city from September 26 to October 3.

The Facebook page will help promote the IWAS World Games, which were awarded to Sochi last November to support the Paralympic legacy, it is claimed.

This year's event will see athletes competing in the sports of archery, arm wrestling, athletics, taekwondo, swimming and table tennis.

The Yug-Sport Sport Centre will host the athletics, archery, taekwondo, arm wrestling and table tennis tournaments, while swimming will be contested at the Swimming Pool Grand Hotel Polyana.

The IWAS World Games started in 1948 in Stoke Mandeville, when Paralympic Movement founder Sir Ludwig Guttmann hosted a competition for those with spinal cord injuries at the Stoke Mandeville Hospital.

The last edition of the event took place in Stadskanaal, The Netherlands, and attracted some 230 athletes representing 26 nations.
