The 19-year-old is best known for her part in the girl group miss A in which she performs alongside group members Fei, Min and Jia.

Born in Gwangju, Suzy has also made her way into the limelight with performances in the television series' Dream High, Big and Gu Family Book, as well as starring in the movie Architecture 101.

As a young, healthy and vibrant image in Korea, Gwangju 2015 believes that Suzy is the ideal figure to express the young and enthusiastic vision that the Summer Universiade hopes to achieve.

As a promotional ambassador, the young star, dubbed "Korea's icon of first love", will be participating in a number of promotional videos, posters and photos, as well as a host of other events used to promote the Universiade.

Alongside Suzy, sports stars including Ki Bo-bae from archery, Son Yeon-jae rhythmic gymnastics, Yang Hak-sun artistic gymnastics, and Choi Eun-sook fencing have also been named ambassadors for the Universiade and will participate in promotional events alongside the Korean pop star.
