September 5 - Meryl Davis and Charlie White are the reigning US Figure Skating Championship dance championsUS Figure Skating has announced the cities due to play host to the Regional and Sectional Championships in 2014 that will see competitors aiming to qualify for the 2015 US National Figure Skating Championships which are due to take place in Greensboro.

In all, eight of the nine cities have been confirmed for the regional events, with the host for the North Atlantic Championships on October 11 to 14 2014 yet to be confirmed.

From October 4 to 7 next year, the Northwest Pacific, Upper Great Lakes and South Atlantic Championships will take place in Wenatchee, St.Paul and Alpharetta respectively, while Ontario, California and Traverse City will host the Southwest Pacific and Eastern Great Lakes Championships respectively, from October 11 to 14.

The New England, Central Pacific and Southwestern Championships run from October 18 to 21 in the cities of Burlington, Salt Lake City and Fort Collins respectively.

The top four skaters in the ladies and men's events at each of the nine Regional Championships will qualify for one of three sectional championships, with the top four at these events in each discipline earning a spot in Greensboro, North Carolina, where the US Championships are due to take place between January 18 and 25.

The Sectional Championships represent the sole qualifying phase for competitors in pairs and ice dancing.

The city of Raleigh will stage the Eastern Sectional Championships from November 19 to 23, while on the same dates, the Midwestern and Pacific Coast Sectionals will be held in Geneva, Illinois and Spokane respectively.

The 2013 US Figure Skating Championships took place in Omaha and saw gold medals for Meryl Davis and Charlie White in both the short and free Championship dance competitions, while Marissa Castelli and Simon Shnapir took top honours in the pairs short programme and free skate.

Ashley Wagner also took double gold in the ladies singles competition while the men's short programme went to Jeremy Abbott with Max Aaron taking top spot in the  men's free skate event.

The 2014 US Figure Skating Championships are due to take place in Boston from January 5 until 12.
