gordon lott 220113January 22 - Gordon Lott, the former Lloyds Banking Group head of Olympic marketing and sponsorship, has today been unveiled as Havas Sports & Entertainment's (HS&E) new United Kingdom managing director.

Lott, who will work from the network's London-based office, is an experienced marketing professional, and joins after eight years at Lloyds where he led the strategy, activation and communications of the bank's sponsorship activity, including its partnership with the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

"We are thrilled that Gordon will be heading up the London team," Lucien Boyer, President and global chief executive of HS&E, said.

"He brings a wealth of experience in sponsorship and brand activation, having delivered a meaningful and commercially-successful Olympic partnership programme for Lloyds that created a legacy with employees, customers and communities across the UK.

"In a fast growing and competitive UK market, Gordon's leadership, track record, and fresh approach will help drive new opportunities for our business, while building on successful programmes, such as the Powerade Sports Academy, work for Olympics sponsors such as EDF, Eurostar, Lloyds Banking Group and Atos, and specialist research for the Premier League, The FA, The LTA, and Lucozade, among others.

"Our UK team plays a crucial role in the development of our global strategy and ambitions.

"I am confident that Gordon will help accelerate HS&E's growth and evolution in a competitive UK marketplace, and take our agency to the next level."

Lott's appointment comes during an extremely successful period of growth for HS&E.

Last year saw the global network work with 11 London 2012 sponsors, integrating United States-based branding pioneer ignition and forming strategic alliances with Seven46, the UK-based editorial communications and bid specialist, and marketing agency Benza in Brazil.

"I'm delighted to be joining HS&E and collaborating with ignition, Seven46, and Havas Media agencies in the UK," Lott said.

"This is a really exciting time for the UK business, and the wider marketing and sponsorship industry, with so many opportunities arising through changes in how consumers and brands are engaging with each other.

"Having worked with many agencies over the years, some of the areas that really attracted me to HS&E and this role is their strategic rigour, insight-led approach and personal commitment to providing innovative and creative output for all of their clients across sport, entertainment and community initiatives.

"It's a fantastic opportunity for me to bring my experience as the 'client' and help create what I hope will be an agency recognised as best in class, working with brands, rights-holders and other key partners".

Havas Media Group UK's chief executive Mark Craze added: "We are excited to welcome Gordon to manage and grow the HS&E UK operation.

"Having the right talent pool and leadership team is essential to our success.

"Gordon's appointment will help develop synergies and new business opportunities with Cake Group, Havas Media, and the rest of Havas in the UK at an important moment of the development and integration for our group."

Lott takes over from Keith Impey, who after seven years leading the HS&E UK team, will now focus on the global side of the business and develop international projects.
