The Australian comedian, who was born without a right foot and wears a prosthesis, was part of the Channel 4 TV commentary team for the Paralympics and hosted a daily alternative review of each day's events, The Last Leg with Adam Hills.

Hills uses Channel 4's Alternative Message to the Queen's Christmas Day broadcast to highlight how the Paralympics helped make a difference to how people with disabilities are perceived but also to attack the British Government over how cuts to disability allowance is affecting people's lives. 

"And somewhere, just slightly, perceptions had shifted," said Hills during the broadcast.

"As people appreciate what they've been gifted.

"And right round the world new voices were boomin'.

"Don't call us disabled, we're now Superhuman.

"But let's not forget there's a long way to go.

"To support Disability, cos as we all know.

"Some politicians we don't care to mention.

"Were handing out medals while cutting the pension."

Hills will also host a Christmas special of The Last Leg ahead of its second series in 2013.

Marge Simpson, Jamie Oliver and Sharon Osbourne have been among past stars to present Channel 4's Alternative Christmas Message. 

It has also been fronted by controversial hosts in the past, including Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and comedian Ali G.
