Ottobock, a worldwide partner of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), have chosen the 24-year-old after his remarkable performance at London 2012 where he won six gold medals to take his career total to 10, having won four in Beijing four years ago.

Dias is so highly considered in Brazil that he was part of the official delegation from Rio that presented the city's official candidature to the International Olympic Committee at its Session in Copenhagen in October 2009, where they were awarded the Games.


Dias joins German sprinter Heinrich Popow, Australian athlete  Kelly Cartwright and Russian cyclist Svetlana Moshkovich as an Ambassador for Ottobock, who have provided technical services at the Paralympics since Seoul in 1988.

At London earlier this year, 78 Ottobock orthopedic technicians from 20 countries provided a technical service for the 4,237 athletes from around the world.
