IPC Alpine skiingNovember 26 - The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) has launched three new websites for the Paralympic sports of alpine skiing, Nordic skiing and ice sledge hockey as part of the build-up to the Sochi 2014 Winter Games.

The websites have been designed and built by IPC Worldwide IT Partner Atos as they aim to give visitors a deeper insight into all three sports.

The sites are all microsites of the main IPC website paralympic.org while they look to integrate the latest news together with video footage of previous Winter Paralympic Games, historical results, world rankings and results.

"The new look sites are much fresher and easier to use for visitors," said the IPC's director of media and communications Craig Spence.

"Following the success of our Ones to Watch lists for London 2012 we have also created new lists of which athletes to look out for in all three of the sports.

"Since the relaunch of paralympic.org in February and our four Summer Paralympic sport sites in August, we have seen visitor numbers increase by over 100 per cent.

"The overall strategy is to bring all IPC sports together under one digital hub which users can access from multiple entry points."

The three new website are available at www.ipc-alpineskiing.org, www.ipc-nordicskiing.org and www.ipc-icesledgehockey.org.

In addition to the three sites, the IPC also has created Facebook pages for each of the sports at www.facebook.com/IPCAlpineSkiing, www.facebook.com/IPCNordicSkiing and www.facebook.com/IceSledgeHockey.
