November 15 - Paralympic bronze medallist Ben Quilter is to have an operation on the knee injury which he believes hampered his performance at London 2012.
The 31-year-old judoka from Brighton won bronze in the -60kg category despite rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament seven weeks earlier.
"It's fairly routine and a lot of judo players have this operation," he told BBC Radio Kent.
"With all the rehab, it'll put me in good stead post-op to crack on as soon as possible.
"My coach said this isn't about sport, a Paralympic medal or your career, this is about the rest of your life"
The operation is likely to keep him out of competition until the middle of next year.
