The Maldives Olympic Committee have held a three-day workshop to improve their planning skills for multi-sport gamesThe Maldives Olympic Committee (MOC) staged a three-day workshop to help them prepare for future multi-sport events, including this year's Commonwealth Youth Games in Samoa.

The event provided four MOC members with the opportunity to gain theoretical and practical education on how to organise and plan international competitions at regional, national and international level.

In partnership with Zeus, a web-based management company established by the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) in order to provide support to the 71 Commonwealth Games Associations in effectively managing athlete and sport federation information, the workshop also helped those in attendance to improve their organisation using the software.

The topics discussed at the event are deemed as crucial to every National Olympic Committee as opportunities for every nation to stage multi-sport events continue to increase.

The Maldives have sent a team to every Commonwealth Games since their debut at the 1986 event in Edinburgh but have yet to win a medal of any kind.

They first participated in the summer Olympic Games in 1988 but have never competed at the Winter Olympic Games.
